The Pigeons and the Net (कबूतर और जाल: एकता की शक्ति)

A Panchatantra tale in which pigeons flew off together with the net and were freed with the help of their friend the mouse.

In a forest lived a flock of pigeons whose king was a wise pigeon named Chitragriva. One day the flock saw grains scattered below and all of them swooped down on them.

Chitragriva warned them, asking where grains could have come from in an empty forest, but the hungry pigeons would not listen. The moment they landed, they were caught in a net laid by a hunter.

Chitragriva stayed calm and said, “Do not panic. If we all fly together, we can fly away with the net itself.” All the pigeons pulled together and flew into the sky with the net.

They reached the burrow of their friend the mouse Hiranyaka. With his sharp teeth Hiranyaka cut the bonds one by one, and all the pigeons were free.

The hunter went home empty-handed. The pigeons understood how much strength there is in moving together.

🪔 Moral
There is strength in unity. In trouble, do not panic but find a way together, and remember a true friend.
